MY SCHOOL TEACHING DIARIES -DAY2

          My second day of peer teaching experience was good and an enriching one. Today, my class was arranged at 6 pm in the evening which continued till 7pm.I taught the continuing portion from the chapter "Force" ,that is, about different types of forces-specifically contact force, non-contact force, frictional force. The first half hour moved on with the discussion of contact and non-contact forces. Though the idea is already familiar to students, I relied on few pictures and videos depicting contact and non-contact forces to teach them.

         I began exactly at 6:00 pm and I discussed about various types of forces existing around us with the help of ICT following which I moved on to discuss  about contact and non-contact forces in particular. Students responded about few familiar types of forces which helped me to proceed with the activity of filling a table in order to distinguish between contact forces and non-contact forces from real life examples.After summarising about the concept of contact forces and non-contact forces,I spent the rest half hour to discuss about frictional force

          In order to capture attention of the students,I discussed about the trolley bags which they would like to prefer for excursions and tours. Based on this example,I went on to the basic concept of friction through few more examples, After giving them a clear definiton for friction,I  brought their attention to the fact that friction is both beneficial as well as non-beneficial to us.Taking some of the non-beneficial situations into consideration, I also taught them that there are methods to reduce friction following which I lead my topic to lubricants and their examples.As a follow p activity, I assigned them with the task to find out few more practical ways to reduce friction andrecord in their science diary
