MY SCHOOL TEACHING DIARIES-DAY 5
2/3/2021 WEDNESDAY
Today, my class timing was arranged to be from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the evening.Being my fifth day with my students of G.H.S.S Anchal,West, both of us got acquainted among each other and this has helped to increase a rapport in the class with enhanced involvement in the class. For the first half hour,I taught the last portion from the chapter "Force", that is "atmospheric pressure".The topic was quite interesting to learn as well as to teach. As atmospheric pressure is something which they have experienced already,it was easy for me to convey the idea properly.
I began the class by reciting them the story of tug of war with the help of an animation video to make them understand the reason for the discovery of existence of atmospheric pressure. It added to the quality of the class as I related various real life incidents with atmospheric pressure. Thereafter, I demonstrated a video of an experiment using egg and bottle to prove the presence of atmospheric pressure.I then discussed about the barometer and its purpose. This followed the statement of definition of one atmospheric pressure. After asking questions,I ended up the class by assigning them with a follow up activity.
My next half an hour went on with a huge introduction to chemistry from which I taught "Metals".The children responded easily as I showed them a collab containing metals that we often use. I include video demonstrations to explain malleability and ductility. After a brief generalization, I winded up with the lesson by asking questions on what was discussed in the class.
